Who We Are

We Are Dreamers:

reimagining a world where women no longer just have empowerment, but power.

We are Doers:

working towards the realization of women’s equality and equity by shifting mindsets, norms and cultures.

A Note from Our Founder

I first became passionate about women’s equality long before I had the language for it. Very early, I had questions about what I was told it meant to be a woman, and the answers I got didn’t always satisfy my curiosity. By the time I was a teenager, some of that curiosity had turned to anger after witnessing people I love experience injustices that wouldn’t have happened if they weren’t women.

I made a plan to become a women’s rights lawyer but discovered very early in my career that I wanted to work on macro-change, not individual cases. This led to a social impact career in the public sector. I have worked in policy, advocacy and communications roles in government, NGOs and philanthropy and my work has taken me around the globe.

I first started The She Tank because after many years researching, writing and working on women’s rights and equality issues, I realized nothing will change until collective mindsets surrounding women change. You can make all the policies, laws and investments in the world, but any house built on a shaky foundation will crumble.

We were originally established in 2018, but went on a public hiatus in 2019. 2024 is our re-birth year…some might call it a reincarnation.

I believe strongly that popular culture and religion are some of the most powerful ways mindsets, cultures and norms about women and girls are established. So, The She Tank is being reimagined to harness the power of these forces in the direction of women’s power.

What We Do

Imagine a Think-Tank and a Creative Agency have a love child… That’s us.

Shifting mindsets, norms and cultures in the direction of women’s power is our hunger.

Harnessing the power of popular culture and of religion for women’s equality is our bread and butter.

Developing and deploying creative strategies is our jam.
